talking about pain, during ah KiaT PTI days, he recalled his instructor saying "u must enjoy the pain..."
well all thanks to buddy donovan, we broken our target today. we came in at around 4.59.59 and 5 hrs flat, so benefit of doubt, say 4.59.59hrs
hahaha. it couldnt be possible if donovan didnt push ah KiaT for the remaining 6Km, when all the lower limb muscle was numb and in pain. his 仙丹 can only last about 1km before the pain comes back again.
but it was a great run, ah KiaT practically ran throughout, apart from using the 4 pit-stop strategy. haha, say as if its in F1 racing.
the 2nd marathon was basically a run/walkathon, the 1st was an experience, but this run was really great!
the mental block at East Coast wasnt really there today, and for once, ah KiaT quite enjoy that stretch, apart from some cramps here and there... but 1 thing negative about this new route is the numerous U-turn. ah KiaT hates U turn, its like u never seem to see the point of u turn no matter how long u run.
this year run was really completed more with mental strength. ah KiaT, once again as lazy and a procrastinator, only trained afew times for this, and longest distance clocked just before the run was below 10km.
but really, 不认老都不行, the recovery period is getting longer. 安哥 KiaT is still limping. hopefully it will be okie by monday!
once again, Congradulations to everyone for completing their run!
anyway this is the best run among the 3 attempts, and somemore the finisher tee is nicer this year! photos shall be out soon, so stay tuned.

this run was accompanied by RS200, without the heart rate monitor la. anw, my new buy is great. like those polar watches ah KiaT wore in army, this watch can program ur own training program and monitor the heart rate. and ah KiaT spent the whole evening measuring his VO2 max, which means the maximum oxygen consumption that one can intake.
but shouldnt measure today as ah KiaT just completed a physical activity, but nonetheless, the reading is 39, which is only of a fair level. NOT FIT, hiak hiak.
haha, guess which colour ah KiaT bought? and this!!! but its not mine la.
1 more day to Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2008. and this is ah KiaT's 3rd marathon. and wow, to think then, when ah KiaT finally fufilled his goal of completing a marathon.

same thing, this year ah KiaT gonna run with buddy donovan. this year route slightly changed.
no more marina south, but enter the new route of crossing the singapore flyer as well as the F1 pit lane.
this time round, 14km will reach east coast, and 28km will exit east coast. which looks good, as ah KiaT always have mental block at this stretch, so its better to face it early.
the previous 2 runs brought different feelings and achievements for ah KiaT, and he believe this run will bring something different! there's 50,000 participants this year!
wow, look at the number, its good! people making running a habit.
this year goodie bag still okie. and finally, finally, after about a year of consideration, ah KiaT decided to get his polar sports watch!
somemore its ah KiaT former PTI course commander, monkey god who is selling it!!!!
its been on the back of his mind for sometime, and come thursday, he had a chance to buy it, and he struggled to leave expo without buying it, most thanks for seeks' advise against buying it.

and of course the march singapore biathlon. registration had started, missed the early bird, so shall take my time to register.
aviva triathlon shall wait, until ah KiaT tried osim triathlon, which shall wait until ah KiaT gets a proper road bike, which shall wait until ah KiaT got a steady income, which shall wait until ah KiaT got a good job, which shall wait until ah KiaT finished the 2009 exams. EXAMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

haiz, 4 hours spent watching 4 soccer games. caught the 3 matches at 11pm simultaneously, and the last game which involves Manchester United.
well as expected, after international duty, all BIG 4 teams usually dont play well.
2 more weeks to Standard Chartered, haven been running for past 1 wk. well, hope to have another fun run this year. Last year was really a disaster as per compared to 2006.

the gym equipment there was great. ah KiaT love free-motion machine. and some of the machines ah KiaT didn't see before, as there are so many ways/methods to train a specific body part.
but then, after work timing is so damn pack. u cant even find a free machine to use. time was wasted finding the machine u want, waiting for people to finish.
its for experience ba, as seeks bought the 1 month package thingy.
not belonging to the atas class society, ah KiaT strongly think club fit suits him most. only 俩元伍角.

this year is slightly challenging. ah KiaT is helping a friend to actually market his wardrobe system. those open concept, as well as walk in wardrobe kind. hoping to learn bits and pieces along the way.

work is really fun, and ah KiaT learnt lesson everyday! our new work venue is great, the decor is fantastic, with the kitchen decor display. wow,
imagine having a house of ur own, fully in charge of designing it, satisfy with the outlook and the decor....
which is the reason why ah KiaT agreed to be part of Kwek's sales team for his OPSH walk in wardrobe system. Together with ah Chua, the PTI team will use their 口才 to recommend these home design open concept system to customers.
to put it simply, ah KiaT gonna learn some basic trade of furniture, mostly more in depth into walk in wardrobe and shelf system. and perhaps help out in Kwek's company in the next IT fair.
well, come to a age whereby u simply have to learn more things. ah KiaT wish to learn more about investment, home decor, estate sales and car matters.... those law and knowledge surrounding these issues.
our future life revolve around these. House ah, Car ah, money ah... its better to know more knowledge about these....
next friday, 1st stop. resume and cover letter workshop. hope to learn something new, and hopefully 1st resume will be sent out.

but after months of try, this is concluded.
u top up a stronger petrol, though its abit more expensive, but its strong and good for the engine, and then the fuel consumption is slightly better.
try it, it may be true as ah KiaT tried it.
its afew dollars more expensive, but its good for the engine, and fuel consumption increased to about average 15km/L. well...

this guy, who looked sissy though, lived in a condominium at jurong east, so rich that he don't even want to pay the $30 installation charges, and shouted screamed ranted at ah KiaT,
hit the table hard and threw ah KiaT's paper around, and when ah KiaT finally told him nicely that there is no need to throw the paper around,
he said he 忍我很久, and said ah KiaT is very rigid, law by law, no difference from a robot, and ask where he graduated from.
there's the urge to say ah KiaT graduated from Imperial College haha, but anw just smoked him that ah KiaT already graduated. there's simply no need to reveal personal information.
an idiot customer so to speak, throwing his own face in front of so many customer at the gallery, and just like a small boy who finally got his candy after many tries,
he apologised for throwing his tantrum at ah KiaT, and offered a handshake.
gosh faint, a guy trying to be funny, or a loser? u decide...
this show how some people really behave. sometimes, procedures and protocol really have to be followed.
ah KiaT seen customer service officer who always say sorry to customer even when the customer is in the fault. some even stay silent when foul words were hurled at them.
well, its not being defiant or whatsoever, but that's not what customer service means to ah KiaT. the priority is simply to help solve the problem and not to 公婆念...
well, its life experiencing though, from my 1st work till now, ah KiaT must admit shyly that he can still able to handle difficult customer. PR skill is definitely important in all parts of life.

and recently while on the roads, ah KiaT noticed an increasing number of bikes on the road. bikes as in road bikes. and the urge of getting one is really there man...
ah KiaT believes its really a relaxation to ride on the road, pedal to where you want to go, you with your wheels, taking you to your destination.
this joy must be as similar to 驾驶, where you derive the maximum satisfaction! the utility will never exceed the budget line.

Everyday work is all about self training at the gym, canteen break and carbo loading. but when night comes, its 开工 time.
and the funny thing is no one there likes to conduct circuit training. This is our batch favourite baby. so Kwek and Kiat personally improvised some stations, to cater for those IPT, Static and Running group people.
We even renamed the Circuit Training as The Icon. Yes, that condominium name. anw, we NSman are all service orientated. making training more enjoyable, we may even name it La Casa next time....
There's this NSman who shouted at us today, complaining the circuit training was too tough for unfit people like him. but anw, that's the 1st time a NSman shouted at any instructor, and he was properly advised.
In Camp Training is rewarding, when u talk to people, understand the work life, encourage them in their training.
Indeed, the desire to kick start a career now is really burning. Just feel that there are tonnes of things yet to be completed, and yet still stuck at this shit hole here, everyday studying.
怨天怨地怨自己. its time to earn bucks now, finance planning, investment and so on... u must start somewhere.

Anw, In Camp Training is fun. SAF meals save us money, though canteen break are very often.
and the SAF Emart is the only place in Singapore, when u buy and pay everything WITH CREDIT, and do not have to worry about any bills being sent to your home at the end of the month.

but mistakes do occur now and then.
Customer: "okie i need a gas cooker and a gas fryer to fry my chicken." ah KiaT: "sure, i'll arrange an appointment and also fix the gas dryer for you to dry your chicken..."
okie, and the customer and ah KiaT burst into laughter, so abruptly after a few seconds of coldness silence.
haha how can ah KiaT confuse fryer and dryer. tongue tight then.
and ah KiaT can imagine the working routine in future. He used to gym swim alot in a week for the past months. and suddenly, when work starts,
its hard to maintain that kinda of intensity. its now 1 or 2 times per week.
yayayaya its 价靠.

yes, but the 安哥 Kiat seem to get tired easily. 不知到为了什么, 会哪么这样的累...
安哥 must drink more kopi, and read lesser 联合晚报 at night.
last sunday was the 1st time ah KiaT met up with the Sports People. as he cant make it during the 1st MGM... 安哥就是老了. He took around 2 months to fully know last year freshies.
and ah KiaT is proud to say, during that few hours, he get to know most of them, about 75% so to speak.
and even more prouder to say that, after looking at those facebook photos taken on that day, ah KiaT need to think and recall those 75% of them NOW!!!
why is his memory so bad?!?!
dun ask him to play Nokia's memory game. it's gonna kill him, even those 5 X 5 square only. haha.
and really, Simpang Bedok is a nice place for supper.! Cooling, relaxing, serene. ah KiaT loves that kind of relaxation, sitting under those big trees, seeing cars buzz by, enjoy a cup of teh halia.
and if not of that 60KM to and fro, amounting up to around $7-$8 of petrol, ah KiaT would have been a regular there.
anw, seldom supper now le. No time and wanna rest. only went there that time after the SPorts BBQ.
ah KiaT still remembered the day when the car battery died on him. in the end, he had to sum-mong the car.
dun worry, history dun happen twice.
but come yesterday, another fantastic thing happened.
this time round, the tyre was punctured. YES, big time.
no wonder the driving seems uneasy, steering wheel seems hard.
ah KiaT was at Bras Basah, waiting for seeks. and before he could get off his car to check, helpful Singaporeans knocked on ah KiaT's door to notify him.
Help was rendered but ah KiaT declined as the news of a punctured tyre is still digesting in his brain. Soon after, seeks came and the 2 of them began changing the tyre.
Fortunately, ah KiaT's dad did have a tutorial lesson with him before, and hence its basically like recalling what he had said.
its not easy to change a tyre, many safety points to note, where to jack the car, always engage the 1st gear, wheel face where, how to screw the nut, etc.
and soon, another fellow Singaporean came and asked, do u need help. ah KiaT thought, well why not, an experienced one can advise him too.
哪里知道 this malay guy also sama sama, 1st time change tyre, trying to learn...
hahaha but he was a great help, and not long later, the 2 of them chatted and did the job.
its pretty nice to see people lending a help, especially so when u didnt request for it. while some others will drive past and stare at this guy, 按舍 put all the boot barang barang on the ground like a flea market.
he even tell ah KiaT off, to lock the door, as his friends encountered situations whereby people take advantage of this situation, and try to steal valuables in the car.
another set of hands, a great help, and not long later, the job was done.
and now, dunno why, ah KiaT pays more attention to noises and feeling when driving. and sometimes to a certain extend of paranoid when he thinks there's something wrong. 心里做用...
anw, the tyre cant be fixed, as the nail is damn long la. have to change a new one. luckily the rim wasnt spoiled..
indeed, 驾驶的确是很多学问....
phew. well, the moral of this story shows Singaporeans are still helpful. No doubt there are black sheep everywhere.
just like today, ah KiaT brought a customer over to see a power supply CRO, and guessed wad she said when ah KiaT mentioned the case,
she replied,
"Did u take a number anot?"
oh my 天... law by law meh, cannot use ur butt to think meh.
and some lagi more better, approached some CRO to follow up a case handled by her colleague, and she just pushed me back and say, "then u ask her back...."
okie enough of grievances but actually ah KiaT liked to speak to people. He is lucky he got the chance to work back in the same company, talked to some really high ranking bosses that he worked with previously, sharing job experiences with them.
its really nice to talk to people.
and today this customer complained about installation of pipe line at her home, $100 too expensive. and if she moved, can she take the pipe out or refund the money because she dun want to benefit the next owner.
and the best thing is, when ah Kiat explained $100 is well worth it, when u stay at ur flat for 10+++ years,
she replied, i already change house 5 times in a year!!!
hahaha she ah long san meh, need to shift everytime...
its 0320 in the morning, and haha, dunno why ah KiaT is able to blog so much. there's still work tomorrow!!!! disrupting the swim session that ah KiaT wanted to have in the morning....
okie la, its late, going wake up in about 两个时辰.
but ah KiaT is still playing fantasy premier league. haha, invite me to ur league.
and hor, one of my colleague is surprised to find 马票 paper in my organiser. hahaha.
